Your gift to the School of Medicine Annual Fund supports the school’s highest priorities. Gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted and available for immediate use, which allows School of Medicine leadership to fund unforeseen opportunities and enrich the student experience. You can choose to designate your Annual Fund gift to support student scholarships, academic programs, student programs, and departments:

Scholarships

Promising medical students thrive at WashU, and your financial support enables us to attract and enroll those with the greatest potential, regardless of their capacity to pay. By investing in scholarships, you help Washington University School of Medicine grow the pipeline of future physician-scientists.

One-fifth of all MD, MD/MA and MD/PhD students receive scholarship support from the Annual Fund. Between 2018 and 2022, the number of MD students who received scholarships increased by 20%.

Programs

Through the Annual Fund, you can choose to support specific academic programs, enabling leadership to have immediate funds available to directly impact the program’s students, research, and community engagement programs.

You can choose to directly support:

  • Program in Physical Therapy
  • Program in Occupational Therapy
  • Program in Audiology and Communication Sciences
  • Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences
  • Medical Scientist Training Program
Departments

Your Annual Fund gift can support the mission of departments within the School of Medicine – educating future health care leaders, providing the highest level of patient care, and pursuing research to better methods of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

Student Programs

Annual Fund gifts from MD alumni and former house staff are allocated to student organizations and the Distinguished Alumni Scholarship Program, which is awarded through the Washington University Medical Center Alumni Association. Learn more.
